Biography

2013: Three-year letterwinner ... will be among the team''s top midfielders again this spring ... two-sport athlete who also excels in football ... was one of four finalists this fall for the Gagliardi Trophy which is presented to the Division III Football Player of the Year.

2012: Played in 18 contests, starting six of them ... earned Third Team All-ODAC honors ... finished fifth on the team in scoring with 24 points on 11 goals and 13 assists ... also notched 28 ground balls and two caused turnovers ... was named the ODAC Player of the Week after totaling a career-high five points (4 g, 1 a) and scoring the game-winner in a 14-13 overtime win over Randolph-Macon (4/21) ... tallied one goal and two assists in a 14-8 win over Swarthmore (3/7) ... scored two goals in a 14-12 regular-season loss to Roanoke (4/4).

2011: Played in 11 games with two starts ... did not play much early in the season while recovering from a football injury ... notched nine points on three goals and six assists ... also had six ground balls and three caused turnovers ... had two assists in a 12-8 win over Randolph-Macon (4/23) and logged one goal and one assist in a 9-7 loss to Lynchburg in the ODAC Tournament (4/30).

2010: Played in nine games during his rookie season, totaling two goals and two assists ... snared three ground balls and caused three turnovers ... notched a pair of assists in a 12-6 win over Randolph-Macon (4/28) in the ODAC Tournament ... also had one goal in a 15-7 loss to Roanoke in the ODAC Semifinals.

High School: Lettered in football, lacrosse and basketball at The Covenant School … four-time first team all-conference pick in lacrosse, helping lead the team to a trio of state championships … also earned all-state honors … tallied 142 goals and 104 assists over his four seasons … in football, earned first team all-conference honors each of his four seasons … was named the conference offensive player of the year as a sophomore and senior and was a three-time first team All-Central Virginia and three-time all-state selection as a running back … earned second team all-state laurels as a linebacker as a first-year and sophomore … rushed for 4,736 yards and 70 touchdowns during his high school career.

Off the Field: Grandfather, Lee McLaughlin, coached the W&L football team from 1957-67 and is a member of the W&L Athletic Hall of Fame … sister, Angie Carrington Murphy ’94, is also a member of the W&L Athletic Hall of Fame after a stellar career with the lacrosse and soccer teams … father, Eric Heinsohn ’83, also attended W&L …earned four letters with the football team, earning All-ODAC honors his final three seasons ... was named the ODAC Offensive Player of the Year and won the Lanier Award as the top player in the state in 2012 ... finished with school records for rushing yards (3,517) and scoring (344) ... business administration major.
