Drew Harrell '24 is in his first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the Washington and Lee men's basketball team for the 2024-25 season.
A four-year member of the W&L men's basketball team, Harrell appeared in 79 games in his career and compiled 643 points on 42.4 percent shooting from the field, and he added averages of 4.5 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.0 steals and 0.6 blocks.

Harrell excelled during his senior year, starting all 28 games for the Blue and White and averaging 12.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game, all of which were career highs. He also shot a career-best 35.1 percent from long range in 2023-24 on his way to being named a Third Team All-ODAC performer.

In the classroom, Drew was named to the ODAC All-Academic Team all four years, earned W&L Scholar Athlete status six times and twice appeared on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. Harrell was also recognized to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court twice, an accolade that requires a junior or senior student-athlete to carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.2 or better.

Harrell will join McHugh and Isaac Hibbard on the men's basketball coaching staff, and he will help with all facets of the program, specializing with the guards and opponent scouting.
