Biography

2018: Three-year letterwinner ... returns to the team after a year off.

2017: Did not compete.

2016: Played in all 10 games as a reserve tight end and special teams player ... served as the team''s long-snapper ... made one tackle, occuring in a 30-20 loss at Bridgewater (11/5).

2015: Played in all 11 games as a reserve tight end and special teams player during his sophomore season ... notched one tackle in a 21-17 win over Randolph-Macon (10/17).

2014: Saw action in all 10 games as a reserve tight end and special teams player ... tallied seven tackles on the season ... posted two solo tackles in a 55-32 loss to Hampden-Sydney (10/11) ... logged two tackles in a 40-36 loss to Catholic (11/8).

High School: Received two letters in football and two in soccer at Salem High School ... helped lead the football team to district and regional championships as a junior ... earned all-conference and all-district honors in soccer ... earned the scholar-athlete award in football.

Personal: Uncle, Jamie Close, played football at UVA-Wise ... biochemistry major.
