High School: Played five years on the varsity baseball team and two on the varsity basketball team at Montgomery Academy ... was an Honorable Mention All-Metro Class 1A-4A selection his senior season for baseball ... participated in the Montgomery Metro Baseball League All-Star Game in 2015 ... was a team captain for his baseball team his senior season ... selected as his team''s best pitcher and hitter his senior season ... played in the East-West Baseball All-Star Game his junior year.

Off the Field: His grandfather, Earl M. Simmons, played baseball and football at Vanderbilt University ... his grandfather, Wilfred Hayes Gowen ’60, and his great uncle, Alan Morris ’64, each graduated from W&L ... an undeclared major.
