2012: One-year letterwinner … will be counted on to eat inning out of the bullpen after successfully converting from catcher to pitcher as a junior.
2011: Earned his first letter after posting a 1.83 ERA in 11 appearances … logged 19.2 innings, all in relief, and posted a 1-1 record … earned his first career win with 1.0 inning of scoreless relief, striking out one and walking two, in an 8-6 win over Randolph-Macon (4/2) … threw a career-high 4.0 innings in relief in a 7-4 loss to Bridgewater in the ODAC Tournament, allowing six hits, no earned runs and striking out three.
2010: Appeared in one game … scored one run and was walked in his sole plate appearance … also made one appearance on the mound, tossing a third of an inning.
2009: Appeared in three games with one start … had one hit in four at-bats and scored two runs.
High School: Earned three letters in baseball at Seattle Prep … helped lead baseball team to a pair of regular season division championships, as well as the 2008 metro championship … was a two-time all-metro selection as a catcher.
Off the field: Sister, Alexis Shanan, played soccer at Yale … grandfather, Jim, played baseball at the University of Michigan … biochemistry major.
