Tuesday, 5/3
Senior Taylor Garcia (Women's Tennis) - Garcia was nearly flawless last week, going a combined 6-0 across her three singles and doubles matches, all from the top spots, for 3-0 W&L ... defeated Christina Harris of Lynchburg, 6-4, 7-6 (7-5), and paired with Margaret Carlton for an 8-5 win over Harris and Lauren Pascadlo ... went on to record two straight 6-0, 6-0 wins at No. 1 singles against Hannah Pardue of Guilford and Krishna Agrawal of Hollins, while also winning both doubles in those matches by 8-0 scores.
Junior Allie Schwab (Women's Lacrosse) - Schwab helped lead W&L to a pair of conference victories last week by totaling eight points, three ground balls and one caused turnover ... in an 18-5 win over Bridgewater, she tallied one goal and a career-high five assists ... in a 23-1 win over Virginia Wesleyan, she posted two assists, two ground balls and one caused turnover ... for the year, Schwab leads the team in scoring with 57 points on 32 goals and 25 assists.

Monday, 4/25
First-year Will Kistler (Men's Tennis) - Kistler helped lead the W&L men's tennis team to three wins that carried the team's current win streak to nine in a row. Individually, he went 3-0 in singles, dropping just seven total games across the three matches at the No. 2 position. In doubles, he also went 3-0 while partnering with Eli Hirshberg at the No. 1 position. Kistler has currently won each of his last six singles matches and each of his last seven doubles matches. For the year, he is 12-8 in singles and 10-9 in doubles.
Sophomore Julia Thomson (Women's Lacrosse) - Thomson helped the Generals to a pair of wins for the week, extending their current winning streak to 11 in a row. In the two wins, she totaled seven goals and three draw controls. In a 20-10 win over Shenandoah on Wednesday, she finished with a career-best six goals and one draw control. She then scored one goal and had two draw controls in a 10-5 win over Denison on Saturday. For the year, Thomson has tallied 32 points on 25 goals and seven assists. She also has 17 draw controls, nine ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Senior Taylor Witherell (Men's Lacrosse) - Witherell had a monster week in helping the Generals extend to a six-game winning streak, going 2-0 for the week. He finished the week with 15 points on seven goals and eight assists, and he also tallied seven ground balls and three caused turnovers. In an 18-11 win over Bridgewater on Wednesday, he tallied a career-best nine points on four goals and five assists. He then had three goals and three assists in a 27-6 win over Guilford on Saturday. For the season, Witherell leads W&L in scoring with 41 points on 25 goals and 16 assists. He also has 28 ground balls and seven caused turnovers.

Junior Pierce Robinson (Men's Golf) - Robinson capped the 2021-22 regular season with his fourth ODAC weekly honor of the year and first of the spring slate following a strong 54-hole outing at the Discover Dekalb Emory Invite hosted by Emory University. Robinson finished as the runner-up after carding three rounds in red numbers on the par 72 layout at Cherokee Run Golf Club. He opened with a 1-under 71 and posted a 2-under 70 in round two to lead by one stroke entering the final round. Robinson again turned a 1-under 71 over the final 18 holes, but medalist Jackson Klutznick from host Emory fired a 6-under 66 to win by four strokes over Robinson. Robinson's 4-under 212 is the fourth-best 54-hole total in W&L program history. That helped the Generals to a 24-over 888 (305-293-290), 25 strokes behind winner Emory and tied for second with Babson College. Robinson, ranked 22nd in Division III by Golfstat, owns the second-lowest average in the ODAC at 73.7 over 20 rounds of competition.

Monday, 4/4
Sophomore Thomas Haller (Baseball) - Haller pitched W&L to a 12-2 game-two win over Guilford on Saturday with a complete game and a program-record 17 strikeouts ... faced the minimum nine batters through three innings, and struck out five batters in a row from the second to the third ... logged five 1-2-3 innings on the day, two of which featured three punch outs ... his 17 strikeouts broke the program record of 15 set in 1991 by Steve Momorella, and he also became the first General to reach double-digit strikeouts in a single game since 2013 ... completed the game allowing just two runs on five hits and two walks.
Senior Janie Stillwell (Women's Lacrosse) - Stillwell garnered the weekly honor for women's lacrosse after she helped lead the Generals to a pair of conference victories on the week ... totaled a team-best eight points and two ground balls across the two games ... in a 12-8 win over Roanoke on Wednesday, she registered two goals, two assists and one ground ball ... followed that performance with one goal, three assists and one ground ball in a 21-2 victory over Lynchburg on Saturday ... for the year, Stillwell ranks third on the team in scoring with a career-best 25 points on 10 goals and 15 assists.

Wednesday, 3/30
Junior Megan Kanaby (Women's Golf) - Kanaby earned her second straight and fourth overall ODAC weekly award after leading W&L at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, which featured a field populated by 13 NCAA Division I programs. Kanaby tied for 19th overall with four other players at 19-over 235 following three rounds. She opened with a 77, before finishing with a pair of 79 rounds. Her efforts helped W&L to 11th place (325-326-325) in the team standings. Kanaby, ranked 38th in Division III by Golfstat, is second in the ODAC with a 76.0 per round average covering 13 rounds of competition.

Senior Joe O'Connor (Men's Track & Field) - O'Connor reset his own W&L record by clearing 4.96 meters (16-5.25) to win the Dr. Jack Toms Alumni Invitational hosted by the Lynchburg ... that mark is not only #1 in the ODAC, but it is tied for first in NCAA Division III with Jack Miller from Letourneau University (Texas) ... O'Connor also competed in the high jump, tying for fourth at 1.78 meters (5-10.00), which ranks second in the league.
Monday, 3/28
First-year John Benner (Baseball) - Benner led the Generals to a 5-2 upset-win over No. 14 Shenandoah on Tuesday with a complete game ... allowed two earned runs on just four hits with no walks and nine strikeouts in the game, with the only two runs coming on a two-run home run ... in what was just his sixth collegiate appearance and fifth start, Benner (3-0) became the first W&L pitcher to throw a complete game since Tom Concklin did so on May 5, 2017 ... W&L's win over Shenandoah marked the program's first-ever season sweep of the Hornets, a series that has dated back to 1988.
First-year Evan Erb (Men's Tennis) - Erb helped lead W&L to a pair of conference victories during the week by posting a 4-0 overall record in his singles and doubles matches ... In a 9-0 win over Bridgewater on Thursday, Erb defeated Gabe Elder, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 1 singles, then he teamed with junior Evan Brady to win at No. 2 doubles, 8-0 ... In an 8-1 victory over Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday, he defeated Felix Bevc at No. 1 by a score of 6-3, 6-0, and then he and Brady won 8-5 at No. 2 doubles ... For the season, Erb has posted a 4-3 record in singles and a 5-1 mark in doubles.
Junior Allie Schwab (Women's Lacrosse) - Schwab played a major role in the Generals winning a pair of non-conference contests during the week ... She recorded 11 points on six goals and five assists, along with posting one ground ball and one draw control ... In a 10-5 win over Williams on Wednesday, Schwab played a direct role in half of the W&L scores, totaling three goals and two assists ... In a 12-7 victory over No. 11 York on Saturday, she once again factored into half of the goals, tallying three goals and three assists ... For the season, Schwab leads the team in scoring with 31 points on 20 goals and 11 assists.

Junior Megan Kanaby (Women's Golf) - Helped the Generals set a new program record for team scoring in a single round (296) and for 54-holes (910) en route to an eighth-place finish out of 24 teams at the Jekyll Island Collegiate over the weekend. Individually, Kanaby placed in a tie for 12th out of 120 golfers with a 73-75-76—224 (+8). For the year, she leads the team with a 75.3 average across 10 rounds played.
Sophomore Katelyn Gamble (Women's Track & Field) - Picked up outdoors right where she left off her All-American indoor season with a record-breaking outing at the W&L Carnival on Saturday ... bested her own Generals' record in the 100m -- 12.04 seconds set at the 2021 NCAA Championships -- by winning the event in 11.97 seconds. That mark is 0.34 seconds off the ODAC record and currently ranks #1 in Division III in the early going of the season.

Sophomore Katelyn Gamble (Women's Track & Field) - Picked up outdoors right where she left off her All-American indoor season with a record-breaking outing at the W&L Carnival on Saturday ... bested her own Generals' record in the 100m -- 12.04 seconds set at the 2021 NCAA Championships -- by winning the event in 11.97 seconds. That mark is 0.34 seconds off the ODAC record and currently ranks #1 in Division III in the early going of the season.
First-year Quinlin Zunk (Women's Track & Field) - Went record hunting in her first collegiate outdoor track & field experience at the W&L Carnival on Friday and Saturday ... competed in all four throwing events, finishing second in the discus with a new Generals' record spinning a toss of 39.33m (129'0.00") ... it snapped an 11-year old record of 38.60m ... Zunk's new mark is tops in the ODAC and sixth in Division III in the early going of the season ... in the hammer throw, Zunk finished 16th at 35.76m (117'4.00") and chimed in 17th in the javelin at 24.59m (80'8.00") ... her hammer throw is the fifth-best in program history ... also placed 20th in the shot put at 9.16m (30'0.75").

Junior Megan Kanaby (Women's Golf) - Kanaby helped lead W&L to a fifth-place finish out of 14 teams at the Savannah Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. As a team, the Generals posted a +39 score of 308-307—625, the fifth-best 36-hole total in program history. Individually, Kanaby led the Generals with a tie for 12th out of the 81 golfers in the event. She finished with a 77-73—150 (+6). For the season, the All-American leads the team with a 75.57 scoring average across seven rounds played.
Sophomore Cannon Crane (Men's Golf) -
Crane helped the W&L men's golf team to an eighth-place finish out of 19 teams at the Savannah Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. As a team, the Generals finished with a +25 score of 302-292-283—877, which is the third-best 54-hole score in the program's annals. The 283 shot on the final day tied for the second-lowest of the tournament and is also tied for the fourth-lowest 18-hole round in program history. Individually, Crane led the charge during the third round, shooting a -2 score of 69 to place in a tie for 11th overall with an +1 tournament tally of 73-72-69—214. On the year, Crane has played a team-best 14 rounds and he carries a 75.07 scoring average.

Senior Taylor Garcia (Women's Tennis) -
Garcia helped the No. 9 Generals to an 8-1 win over No. 16 Johns Hopkins in their only match of the week ... she won with Izzy Koziol at No. 1 doubles by an 8-4 score, before winning, 6-4, 6-2, at No. 1 singles over Anjali Devireddy, the 13th-ranked singles player in the the Atlantic South Region.

Sophomore Hanna Bishop (Women's Lacrosse) -
In a 10-9 victory at seventh-ranked Franklin & Marshall on Saturday, Bishop led the team with three goals and one assist for four points ... also had two caused turnovers and one ground ball ... has now scored 49 career goals in just 15 games.
Tuesday, 2/22
Senior Joe O'Connor (Men's Track & Field) - broke the W&L and ODAC records in the pole vault for the second straight week ... cleared 5.10 meters (16'8.75") to win the event at the JDL DMR Invite, resetting the ODAC and Washington and Lee records ... the height is the highest of any clear pole vault mark in league history, indoors or outdoors ... also took to the high jump and placed third at 1.85 meters (6'0.75") ... it is the second-best mark in the ODAC and third time he has achieved it this season.

Tuesday, 2/15
Sophomore Katelyn Gamble (Women's Track & Field) - Continued her dominance in the sprints with three of the fastest times in the 60-meter dash in the ODAC this season at the VMI Winter Classic .. reset her own school record (7.80) twice ... in the prelims, she snapped it the first time at 7.71 ... then broke her record again in winning her semifinal heat at 7.63 ... In the finals, she topped the all-divisions field by matching her record at 7.63 ... that time slots first in the ODAC charts and is tied for second in NCAA Division III.
Senior Joe O'Connor (Men's Track & Field) - broke the W&L and ODAC records in the pole vault at the VMI Winter Classic ... topped a field of 14 competitors in the event, clearing 5.00m (16'4.75") in the indoor poll vault ... broke his previous school record of 5.84m and the conference mark of 4.90m ... is now tied for fourth in NCAA Division III in the event.

Monday, 2/7
Senior Joe Salerno (Wrestling) - Helped lead the Generals to three conference victories during the week by posting a 3-0 individual record with three wins by fall. In the process, Salerno broke his own school record for pins in a season. He now has 21 season pins and his 59 career pins are also a school record and one away from tying the conference career record. In a 38-3 win over Johns Hopkins on Friday, he pinned Jared Osbourne in 5:18. On Saturday, he pinned Ronald Grevera of Muhlenberg in 3:57 and then pinned Eric DeWald of USMMA in 0:47. W&L defeated the Mules 26-13 and then downed USMMA 34-6. Salerno is now 24-8 on the season.

Sophomore Katelyn Gamble (Women's Track & Field) - Bested a field of 22 competitors to win the 200-meter dash in 26.14 seconds at the Joe LaRocca Invitational ... that time is the fastest in the league this season and ranks 25th in NCAA Division III ... it is also the third-quickest mark in W&L program history ... also competed in the long jump, placing third in the event in 4.97 meters (16-3.75).

Senior Joe O'Connor (Men's Track & Field) - Competed in three events and posted three Top 10 finishes, including an event victory at the VMI Winter Relays over the weekend ... tied for first in the pole vault at 4.80m ... added an eighth-place finish in the high jump at 1.85m and took seventh in the 60m hurdles in 8.78.

Monday, 1/24
Senior Megan Horn (Women's Basketball) - Horn led the Generals to three ODAC wins in four days last week with averages of 17.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 6.3 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.7 blocks per game ... began the week with a 15-point, seven-rebound, five-assist effort in a 63-48 win over Randolph, before going for 23 points, eight boards and five dimes in a 69-60 road win over Bridgewater on Thursday ... capped the week with a near triple-double in an 87-65 win over Hollins on Saturday, scoring 14 points and adding eight rebounds and nine assists ... also shot 41.9 percent (18-43) overall, 45.5 percent (5-11) from long range and 84.6 percent (11-13) from the foul line ... crossed the 300-career assists mark last week, becoming just the fourth player in program history to do so, while the Generals increased their home winning streak to 16 straight with their two home wins ... through 14 games this season, Horn ranks third in the ODAC in assists per game (4.5) and sixth in both scoring (14.4) and rebounding (7.5) averages.
First-year Stephen Ewing (Men's Swimming) - helped W&L to a 174-87 win over VMI with wins in the 500 free (4:55.46) and 1000 free (10:10.13) ... his time in the 1000 was a new season-best, and it ranks second in the ODAC ... Ewing remains second in the ODAC in the 500 with a top time of 4:49.11 this season.
Tuesday, 1/25
Sophomore Katelyn Gamble (Women's Track & Field) - won all three heats of the 60-meter dash at the Finn Pincus Invitational ... claimed the preliminaries in 7.81 and matched her own W&L record with a 7.80 sprint in the semifinals ... won the final at 7.86 seconds ... her time of 7.80 ranks first in the ODAC and fourth in NCAA Division III ... also competed in the long jump, placing 6th at 4.83m.

Monday, 1/17
First-year Devin Bateman (Men's Swimming) - Bateman helped the Generals return to action with a win over Gettysburg with three total wins and a fourth-place finish ... he was the victor in the 50 free (21. 49) and 100 fly (52.73), in addition to swimming the opening leg for the winning 200 free relay (1:26.44) ... his fourth-place effort came in the 100 free (49.26) ... Bateman remains atop the ODAC in the 50 free and 100 fly.
Sophomore Sophia Rollo (Women's Swimming) - Rollo aided the Generals in a comfortable 201-51 win at Gettysburg on Saturday in the team's first action in nearly two months ... she won the 100 back (59.66), 200 back (2:12.89) and 200 IM (2:13.21) and anchored the winning 200 free relay (1:40.44).
Week of Jan. 2 - Jan. 8
Monday, 1/3
Senior Megan Horn (Women's Basketball) - Horn was just two assists shy of a triple-double in leading W&L to an 86-45 win to close out the St. Pete Classic at Eckerd College on December 20 ... she tallied 16 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor, including 2-for-5 from long range ... tied season highs in rebounds (10) and assists (8) and recorded a season-best four steals ... moved from a tie for fifth on the program's career assists list to sole possession of fourth (283) ... ranks fifth in the ODAC in scoring average this season (14.4), tied for seventh in rebounding (7.2) and tied for ninth in assists per game (3.3) and steals per game (2.1).
Week of Dec. 5 - Dec. 11
Monday, 12/6
Junior Ryan Luth (Wrestling) - helped lead W&L to a fourth-place finish out of 12 teams at the New Standard Invitational on Saturday by going 4-0 overall and winning the 157-pound weight class ... opened the tournament with a pin of Branden Bulatao of Stevens in 1:50 and then beat Averett's Thomas Baldwin by tech fall (16-1). In the semifinals, produced a 12-2 major decision over Shawn Marchesano of Ursinus and then he downed Hunter Gutierrez of Stevens by a score of 7-3 in the title bout ... Luth is ranked eighth nationally in his weight class and he has compiled a 14-1 overall record this season.

Sophomore Katelyn Gamble (Women's Track & Field) - set the W&L record in the 60m on Saturday in the semifinals of the event at the Bast-Cregger Invite ... crossed the finish line in 7.80, besting the mark of 7.82 set by Dana Lee ’17 in 2016 ... went on to finish second in the event, crossing the finish line in 7.83 ... is currently the second-fastest time in Division III this year ... also took fifth in the long jump at 5.09m (16'8.50"), which marked the fifth-best in program history.
Senior Joe O'Connor (Men's Track & Field) - broke his own school record (0.06 off ODAC record) in the pole vault on Friday, clearing 4.84m at the Bast-Cregger Invitational ... finished first in the event, while also setting a new facility record ... broke his previous record of 4.83m ... his mark is the second-best in Division III this year ... Also at the meet, O'Connor finished fourth in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.55 and fifth in the high jump at 1.85m.
Week of Nov. 28 - Dec. 4
Monday, 11/29
Senior Megan Horn (Women's Basketball) - led the Generals to their 12th straight home win, extending a program record, by a 73-68 margin over Mary Washington on Tuesday ... scored 17 points and pulled down seven rebounds, two on the offensive glass, and added three assists, two steals and a block ... through five games this season, Horn is averaging 14.2 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in 30.8 minutes per contest.
Week of Nov. 21 - Nov. 27
Monday, 11/22
First-year Devin Bateman (Men's Swimming) - had a hand in six new ODAC-best times in W&L's fourth-place finish at the F&M Invitational over the weekend ... placed third in the 200 fly (1:57.05) and seventh in the 50 free (21.61), but swam a prelim time of 21.31 ... added a time trail mark of 51.01 in the 100 fly ... helped four relays all finish fifth ... the 200 free relay (1:25.59), 400 free relay (3:09.85) and 400 medley relay (3:28.78) are also new ODAC bests ... the 200 medley relay swam a time of 1:34.67, which is currently second in the conference.
Sophomore Brynn Martinson (Women's Swimming) - powered No. 23 W&L to a first-place finish at the Franklin & Marshall Invitational over the weekend with six total wins ... won the 50 free (23.84), 100 free (52.29) and 200 free (1:54.45) ... also part of the winning 200 free relay (1:35.43), 200 medley relay (1:46.31) and 400 free relay (3:30.06) ... all six times are new ODAC bests, with the 200 free relay registering an NCAA B-cut time ... all of Martinson's individual freestyle times rank Top 25 in Division III, the 200 medley relay ranks 14th and both the 200 and 400 free relays rank fourth.

Monday, 11/1
First-year Devin Bateman (Men's Swimming) - won a team-high three individual races on Saturday in W&L's 162-90 win over Lynchburg ... topped the field in the 50 free (21.90), 100 free (48.54), and 100 fly (52.98) ... times of 21.90 in the 50 free and 48.54 in the 100 free are both third in the ODAC.
Sophomore Brynn Martinson (Women's Swimming) - won a team-high three individual races and swam on a winning relay to help the Generals to a 153-103 win over Lynchburg on Saturday ... set new ODAC-best times in the 50 free (24.20), 100 free (53.16) and 200 free (1:57.47) ... she and her teammates currently are atop the ODAC in the 200 free relay (1:38.93) ... time in the 50 free also ranks 12th in Division III, while her 100 free time is 14th and her 200 free time is 33rd ... the 200 free relay has the seventh-best time in Division III.

Junior Pierce Robinson (Men's Golf) - claimed his third ODAC weekly honor after helping the Generals to a fourth-place finish out of 21 teams at the O'Brient-Jensen Memorial hosted by Guilford College. Individually, Pierce placed in a tie for 13th out of 119 golfers with a +9 score of 76-75--151.
Monday, 10/25
Junior Peyton Tysinger (Field Hockey) - registered two goals with one assist to lead the 12th-ranked Generals to a 2-0 week ... at Shenandoah on Wednesday, she assisted on the game-winning tally in a 2-1 win ... on Saturday against Randolph-Macon, Tysinger scored two goals on six shots ... is now tied for fourth on the team in goals this season with six.
Junior Michael Kutsanzira (Men's Soccer) - repeated as the ODAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week after a five-point week ... scored two goals in a 3-0 win over Randolph-Macon on Saturday ... assisted on the Generals' lone goal in a 1-1 draw against Roanoke on Wednesday ... leads the ODAC in assists (9) and is one away from tying the program's single-season record.
Senior Caroline Baber (Women's Swimming) - contributed to a team-high four wins in W&L's 156-100 victory over Randolph-Macon on Saturday ... individual wins came in the 50 free (25.31) and 100 fly (59.76) ... also helped the 200 medley relay (1:50.94) and 200 free relay (1:39.49) to wins as well ... time of 59.76 in the 100 fly is an ODAC best.
Junior Todd Echols (Men's Swimming) - won the 100 breast (1:02.08) and 200 IM (2:02.73) to help the Generals to a 176-74 win over Randolph-Macon on Saturday ... also swam on the winning 200 medley relay (1:38.13) ... time of 2:02.73 in the 200 IM currently ranks first in the ODAC.
Sophomore Sydney Heifner (Volleyball) - recorded double-digit kills in every match this week to lead the Generals to a 3-0 record ... for the week, she had 49 kills (4.45 kills per set), 32 digs (2.91 digs per set), seven blocks and four aces ... against R-MC, Heifner tallied a career-best 24 kills on 4.80 kills per set to go with 15 digs and two blocks ... the 24 kills are tied for the 10th-most in a single match in program history ... also had 13 kills in a win against Widener and 12 kills in a victory at Cabrini.

Junior Michael Kutsanzira (Men's Soccer) - tallied five points on two goals and one assist in No. 1 W&L's 8-0 win over Eastern Mennonite on Saturday ... assisted on the team's third goal in the 28th minute before scoring the sixth and eighth goals in the game in the 82nd and 90th minutes, respectively ... leads the ODAC in assists this season (8) and is tied for the fifth-most assists in a single season in program history.
Week of Oct. 10 - Oct. 16

Junior Pierce Robinson (Men's Golf) - finished sixth overall out of 66 golfers at the Carnegie Mellon Tartan Invitational ... posted a +10 score of 76-74-76—226 at the Laurel Valley Golf Club, helping lead the Generals to a ninth-place team finish.

Sophomore Sophia Rollo (Women's Swimming) - led the Generals to a first-place finish out of nine teams at the ODAC Relays on Saturday, swimming on five winning relays ... swam the opening leg on the winning 3x50 back relay (1:21.17), 3x100 IM relay (3:06.87) and 200 medley relay (1:51.01) ... other two wins came as part of the 400 free relay (3:41.04) and 200 free relay (1:41.33).

First-year Marcella Mercer (Women's Golf) - helped lead Washington and Lee to a second-place finish out of 10 teams at the Generals Cup Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, as the team set the record for the lowest team round (297) and lowest 36-holes (598), while also finishing better than top-ranked Carnegie Mellon ... tied for fourth out of 57 golfers with a 77-72--149 (+7), which were among the two lowest rounds she has shot this fall.
Junior Pierce Robinson (Men's Golf) - helped lead W&L to a fifth-place finish out of 14 very accomplished teams at the Wabash College Invitational on Monday and Tuesday ... carded an even-par score of 291-296-295--882 (+18) to tie for 11th out of 70 golfers in his first tournament of the season ... W&L finished fifth overall behind four teams ranked in the Top 10 of Division III.
Sunday, 10/3
Junior David Onyejekwe (Football) - helped lead the W&L football team to a 32-30 road victory over Hampden-Sydney on Saturday by totaling a team-best 10 tackles and one sack ... defense stopped a potential game-tying two-point conversion attempt and then forced the Tigers into four straight incompletions on their final possession after recovering an onside kick.

First-year Laetitia Roegner (Women's Golf) - placed in a tie for seventh out of 90 golfers at the NCAA Division III Preview event with a season-low score of 74 (+2) ... just four strokes behind the individual medalist in helping lead the Generals to a fifth-place team finish out of 16 teams.
Monday, 9/27
Junior Tess Muneses (Field Hockey) - scored three goals and added one assist to lead the Washington and Lee field hockey team to a 2-0 week ... had two goals on four shots in a 4-2 win against Catholic on Saturday, including the game-winning tally ... followed that with one goal and one assist in a 4-1 upset of 18th-ranked Centre on Sunday ... registered 13 points on five goals and three assists this season.
Sunday, 9/26
Senior Jack Pollard (Football) - helped engineer the football team's first win over a ranked opponent in six years with a 25-24 last second win over Randolph-Macon ... despite suffering an injury in the first half, Pollard completed 5-of-8 passes for 126 yards and one touchdown, and ran 12 times for 48 yards and another touchdown ... assisted on the Generals' 17-play, 99-yard game-winning drive that concluded with a touchdown on the game's final play ... the Generals then made good on a 2-point conversion for a walk-off victory.

Tuesday, 9/21
Senior Drew Woodfolk (Men's Cross Country) - was the top ODAC finisher at the NCAA Division II/III Regional Preview hosted by Converse University on Saturday ... used a 5:26.50 per mile pace to finish 38th overall out of 272 runners in the field and 12th among Division III competitors ... finished the 8k course at 27:03.30 at the Roger Milliken Center in Spartanburg, S.C.
Monday, 9/20
Sophomore Sydney Heifner (Volleyball) - registered 57 kills and 53 digs to lead the Generals to a 3-1 week ... averaged 3.80 kills and 3.53 digs per set, while adding seven service aces and eight blocks ... against Gettysburg on Saturday, she recorded 15 kills and 15 digs on a .289 hitting percentage ... followed that by tying a career-high with 20 kills against Mary Washington ... on the season, Heifner is second in the ODAC in kills per set (4.05).

Junior Megan Kanaby (Women's Golf) - helped lead the Generals to a program-record 36-hole total of 300-300--600 (+24), bettering the previous record by 10 strokes ... the team shot 300 for both rounds, also setting a new record for a single round, while Kanaby's total of 73-73--146 (+2) set a new individual 36-hole scoring record for the program ... in the process, she finished in a tie for 12th-place out of 72 golfers.
Monday, 9/13
Senior Grace Weise (Field Hockey) - totaled a career-best seven points to lead W&L to a 5-4 victory over 14th-ranked Christopher Newport on Saturday ... registered three goals for the second time in her career and added one assist ... the seven points tie for the fifth-most in a single game in program history ... scored the three goals on just four shots.

Sophomore Sydney Heifner (Volleyball) - helped the Generals to a 4-1 record in the opening week ... appeared in four of the matches ... averaged 4.43 kills per set and 3.07 digs per set, while hitting .249 ... had 62 kills, 43 digs, five service aces and six blocks overall ... recorded a career-high 20 kills on a .255 hitting percentage in a 3-1 win against William Peace on September 1 ... had at least 12 kills and at least eight digs in all four of her matches.
