LEXINGTON, Va. – Twelve Washington and Lee University student-athletes across six programs have been named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District At-Large Teams, honoring their combined academic and athletic excellence.
W&L's honorees include:

- Julia Haetzel, Senior – Women's Golf
- Ciara Smith, Junior – Women's Lacrosse
- Dagny Tombaugh, Sophomore – Women's Lacrosse
- Hannah Van Son, Junior – Women's Lacrosse
- Jonathan McEwen*, Junior – Men's Golf
- Elliot Cohen*, Senior – Men's Lacrosse
- Chris Datz*, Senior – Men's Lacrosse
- James Haley*, Senior – Men's Lacrosse
- Liam Flanagan*, Sophomore – Wrestling
- Evan Lindner, Senior - Wrestling
*Indicates advancement to the national Academic All-America® ballot.
The CSC Academic All-District program recognizes the nation's top student-athletes who excel both in the classroom and in competition. To qualify, nominees must have at least sophomore academic standing and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. Sport-specific criteria also apply: for lacrosse and golf, student-athletes must participate in at least 90 percent of the team's contests or start 66 percent; for wrestling, they must compete in 70 percent of scoring events or represent their weight class at a conference championship.
These Generals now stand among the country's elite student-athletes, and the national Academic All-America selections will be announced later this summer.
