2026 NCAA Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championship Preview

Women's Track & Field Duo Set for National Stage in La Crosse, Wisconsin

5/20/2026 11:31:00 AM

LEXINGTON, Va. - Senior Bailey Hedgemon and Junior Olivia Warr are set to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championship on May 21-23 at Roger Harring Stadum at Veterans Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Warr is making her second consecutive appearance at the outdoor national championship after qualifying in the 1,500m last season, where she finished in 21st place. Hedgemon is headed to the national meet for the second time this season after qualifying in the weight throw during the indoor season, where she finished in fifth place to earn First Team All-America honors. This marks the third-straight season that the Generals will have a student-athlete competing at the national championship while also marking the second consecutive year with two representatives.

Warr will kick off the national meet on Thursday night at 8:30 p.m. (ET) in the 10,000m and will become the second runner in program history to compete in the event, joining Josephine Schaeffer, who ran the event three times on the national stage. Warr has the seventh-fastest time in the field with a program-record time of 34:53.56, which she set at the Bison Outdoor Classic on April 11. Elle Marsyla of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps holds the top time this season with a mark of 33:51.03, while seven other athletes, including Warr, have run below 35 minutes this season. The field includes two returning First Team All-Americans from last year's meet. Kate Sanderson of MIT finished fourth, while Ainara Sainz De Rozas of Concordia University-Wisconsin finished eighth. Alison Mueller-Hickler of Colorado College (10th place), Estelle Snider of the University of Chicago (12th place), and Lucy Gott of NYU (14th place) are returning Second Team honorees from last year.

Hedgemon, an Atlanta, Ga., native, is the first General in program history to qualify in the hammer throw. She will compete on Saturday, May 23, at noon (ET) in Flight 1. Hedgemon heads into the national meet with the 15th-best mark in the field with a program-record throw of 53.81m (176'-06.00"), which she set at the Hill City Twilight on May 2. She is joined by seven returning All-Americans from last year, including First Team honorees Brenna Maslaroff of UW-Oshkosh, the 2025 national runner-up, Caitlyn Cox of Loras (fourth place), and Kayla Behnke of UW-Eau Claire (eighth place). Anne Speratos of Bethel (Minn.) (10th place), Ella Stritesky of St. Scholastica (11th place), Jillian Toth of Monmouth (Ill.) (14th place), and Erika Ezumba of Johns Hopkins (15th place) are returning Second Team All-Americans.
