Three Program Records Fall at Hill City Twilight

LYNCHBURG, Va. - Three Washington and Lee University women's track and field program records fell on Saturday afternoon at the Hill City Twilight at the University of Lynchburg.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • Cassie Carr, Bailey Hedgemon and Emily Jackson all recorded program record marks in the respective events this afternoon. Carr improved her top-time in the 800m which she set at last week's ODAC Championship, finishing in tenth place with a personal best time of 2:13.30.
  • Hedgemon reset her own program record in the hammer throw this afternoon, recording a new personal best mark of 53.81m (176'-06.00") to finish in second place in the event. Her mark moved her to No. 8 in Division III this season.
  • Jackson secured the final program record of the afternoon in the shot put, reclaiming it from Hedgemon who broke it at last week's conference championship. Jackson finished in second place with a personal best mark of 12.23m (40'-01.50"). Jackson also competed in the discus, turning in a fourth place finish with a mark of 32.46m (106'-06.00").
  • Jesma Evans was also in action on Saturday, turning in a first place finish in the 400m after clocking in a time of 56.42s.
