Hedgemon, Warr Secure Berths to NCAA Outdoor National Championship

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Bailey Hedgemon and Olivia Warr of the Washington and Lee University women's track and field team will represent the Blue and White at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, the NCAA announced on Friday night.

This marks the third consecutive season that the Generals will have a student-athlete competing at the national meet and the second-straight year with two representatives.

Hedgemon is making her second appearance at the national championship as she earned a berth in the indoor season in the weight throw, earning First Team All-America honors. Hedgemon is the first W&L athlete to compete in the hammer throw at the National Championship. She ranks 15th in the hammer throw this season with a mark of 53.81m which she set at the Hill City Twilight. She will compete at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 23 in hopes of earning All-America honors.

Warr will race at the national meet for the second-straight outdoor season after earning a bid in the 1,500m as season ago. This season, Warr ranks 7th in the 10,000m heading into championship with a time of 34:53.56 which was set at the Bison Outdoor Classic. Warr becomes the second runner in program history to qualify for the event, joining Josephine Schaeffer who ran the event three times. The 10,000m is slated for Thursday night at 7:30 p.m.
