Brown Shatters 3k Steeplechase Record at Widener Final Qualifier

CHESTER, Pa. - Junior Reese Brown of the Washington and Lee University women's track and field team shattered her own program record in the 3,000m Steeplechase on Monday evening at the Widener Final Qualifier.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE MEET
  • Brown, who reset her own program record last week at the Liberty Twilight, one-upped herself again as she lowered her own mark with a 15 second personal best in the 3,000m steeplechase, finishing in 6th place with a time of 10:55.35.
  • Cassie Carr clocked in a four second personal record in the 1,500m, crossing the finish line in a time of 4:30.50 to lower her No. 2 all-time mark in the event. Jesma Evans turned in a second place in the 400m, clocking in a time of 56.53s.
  • Bailey Hedgemon rounded out the competitors in the hammer throw, recording a toss of 53.20m (174'-06.00") to finish in fourth place.
