Four Generals Garner CSC Academic All-District Honors

GREENWOOD, Ind. - Four members of the Washington and Lee University women's basketball team were selected to the 2026 Division III Women's Basketball College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, the organization announced on Tuesday afternoon.

W&L's honorees include seniors Quinn McGuinness and Elka Prechel and juniors Riley Bryant and Caroline Shimp. McGuinness and Prechel earned their third CSC Academic All-District honor while Bryant was recognized for the second time in her career. Shimp was honored by the organization for the first time.

The CSC (formerly CoSIDA) recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. Student-athletes are eligible for this award by maintaining a 3.50 grade point average or better while playing in 90% of the program's games or starting 66% of games played. This award is nominated and voted upon by members of CSC. 

McGuinness was selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced on Wednesday, April 15th.
