LEXINGTON, Va. - The Washington and Lee University women's basketball team earned a pair of D3hoops.com All-Region Honors while senior Mary Schleusner was named the Region 6 Player of the Year and head coach Brittney Kemp earned Coach of the Year laurels for the region.

Kemp, who is in her second season with the Blue and White, was named the Region 6 Coach of the Year for the first time in her career after leading the Generals to a 31-1 record and an appearance in the NCAA Quarterfinals. The 31 wins mark the most in program history while also marking the longest winning streak. She also led the team to its third Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) Championship in four years, punching its ticket to the NCAA Tournament for the fifth consecutive season. Under Kemp's leadership, W&L achieved its highest-ever national ranking at No. 3 in both the D3hoops.com and Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) national polls while defeating five nationally ranked opponents, including #14/21 Carroll University (Wis.), #7/8 Emory University, #23 Shenandoah University, #14 Christopher Newport, and #23 Bethel University (Minn.).

Seniors Mary Schleusner and Quinn McGuinness were named All-Region selections, tied for the most in a single season with the 2001-02 and 2023-24 squads. Schleusner picked up her fourth All-Region laurel from the organization while being named the Region 6 Player of the Year for the third time. Schleusner had another standout year donning the Blue and White, leading the team in points with 657 (21.2 ppg), rebounds with 528 (17.0 rpg), blocks (66), and steals (63) while ranking second on the team with 71 assists. Schleusner capped off an illustrious career as the only Division III player to record over 2,000 points and 1,900 rebounds as she tallied 2,483 points and 1,992 rebounds. She is one of two players in all divisions to have three seasons with 500 or more rebounds while breaking Division III career records in rebounds and double-doubles with 97.

McGuinness, a Second Team All-ODAC honoree, was selected to the Region 6 Third Team for the first time in her career. The Columbia, N.J. native had an impressive senior campaign as she played in all 32 games with 309 points, averaging 9.7 per game. She dished out a career-high 100 assists this season with a career-high 48 steals while leading the team with 34 three-pointers. She finishes her career ranked 5th all-time in assists with 289, 10th in free throws made with 237, while playing in the third-most games in program history, suiting up for 119 games.
