LEXINGTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee University wrestling team travels to Ada, Ohio, this weekend for the 2026 NCAA Division III Region IV Championships, hosted by Ohio Northern University at the ONU Sports Center Fieldhouse.
The two-day, double-elimination tournament begins Friday, Feb. 27, with the top three finishers in each weight class earning automatic bids to the NCAA Division III National Championships, set for March 13–14 in La Crosse, Wis.
Region IV Landscape
Region IV remains one of the deepest regions in Division III wrestling. Participating programs include nationally ranked powers No. 2 Roanoke College and No. 8 Baldwin Wallace, alongside Ohio Northern, Mount Union, Otterbein, Averett, Washington & Jefferson, and others.
Washington and Lee placed fourth at last year’s regional championships with 139.0 team points and qualified four wrestlers for nationals — the most for the program since 1978.
The bracket includes multiple returning All-Americans in:
- Andrew Supers (Baldwin Wallace, 165)
- Joseph Petrella (Baldwin Wallace, 197)
- Mac Cafurello (Roanoke, 125)
Roanoke leads the regional rankings with four No. 1 seeds (125, 133, 141, 149), while Baldwin Wallace and Ohio Northern add additional nationally competitive depth.
Washington and Lee enters the weekend with seven wrestlers ranked in the top four of their respective weight classes and two holding No. 1 regional rankings.
