LEXINGTON, Va. — Members of the Washington and Lee University wrestling team competed at the Jim Crytzer '77 Invitational on Saturday, with the Generals producing multiple podium finishes and bonus-point victories across the lineup.
Robert Pavlek (149) led W&L with a runner-up finish, while Colin Bridges (165), Evan Owen (149) and Trey Custodio (141) each earned top-six placements in competitive brackets.
Pavlek advanced to the championship bout at 149 with a 3–1 overall record, opening his day with a 2:04 fall before adding back-to-back decisions to reach the final. Bridges and Owen both reached the semifinal round in their respective weight classes, combining for pins, technical falls, and sudden-victory wins. Custodio added depth scoring for the Generals at 141, finishing sixth with three wins, including a 20–3 technical fall.

Pavlek finished 3–1 overall, advancing to the championship bout with a 2:04 pin over Jayden Sheppard (Wisconsin–Eau Claire), a 2–1 decision against Max Kaye (Ohio Northern), and a 9–4 semifinal win over Blakelee Bastien (Wisconsin–Eau Claire).

Bridges posted a 3–2 record, highlighted by a 1:41 fall, a 4–2 decision, and a sudden-victory win in the quarterfinals to reach the semifinals.
- 149 | Evan Owen — 4th Place
Owen went 5–1 on the day with two technical falls, two pins, and a decision. His run included tech falls of 16–0 and 17–2, along with pins in 1:38 and 4:41 during consolation action.
- 141 | Trey Custodio — 6th Place
Custodio finished 3–3, securing a 20–3 technical fall, an 8–3 decision, and a medical-forfeit victory to earn a sixth-place finish and 10.5 team points.
