LEXINGTON, Va. – Washington and Lee University Head Women's Golf Coach
Jane Hopkinson-Wood has announced the team's competition schedule for the fall season.
The Generals, ranked No. 13 in the
Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Preseason Rankings, will open play this Saturday and Sunday, September 13-14, at the NCAA Preview at the Desert Willow Golf Resort-Firecliff Course in Palm Desert, Calif. The field will feature some of the best teams in Division III, with 14 of the 16 teams ranked in the WGCA preseason poll, including each of the top-six teams:

Emory (1), Carnegie Mellon (2), Washington (Mo.) (3), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (4), Pomona-Pitzer (5), George Fox (6), New York University (10), Redlands (11), Randolph-Macon (12), Washington and Lee (13), Trinity (Texas) (18), Centre (19), Grinnell (22), Mary Hardin-Baylor (24).
Following the NCAA Preview, the Generals will return to action at the MCC Women's Intercollegiate at the Montgomery Country Club in Montgomery, Ala., on Sunday and Monday, September 21-22. W&L will then head out to Pittsburgh, Pa., and the Mystic Rock Course at Nemacolin for the Tartan Invitational on October 6-7, before closing the fall slate with the Historic Triangle Invitational at Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va., on October 20-21.
