Weather Impacts Day Two of Women's Golf National Championship

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. —Inclement weather continued to impact play at the 2025 NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship on Wednesday, causing additional delays during the second round at Kingsmill Resort.

Washington and Lee University completed its opening round in the morning, finishing at 41-over par on the River Course. The Generals began Round 2 at noon on the Plantation Course, starting from hole one and are currently sitting in 24th place.

The Blue and White completed 10 holes before rain and lightning forced another suspension of play at approximately 4 p.m. for the second consecutive day. The second round is set to resume Thursday morning at 8 a.m.

This marks the second consecutive day of weather-related disruptions at the championship. Tuesday's first round was delayed five hours and suspended due to darkness, with W&L through 13 holes at the time.

  • Round 1 (Tuesday, May 12)
    • 10:22 a.m. - play suspended due to heavy rains and flooding.
    • 2:05 p.m. - play is slated to resume at 3 p.m., with Alex Crews scheduled for a 3:35 p.m. tee time.
    • 7:54 p.m. - play suspended due to darkness. 
    • 8:30 a.m. - Wednesday, May 13 - play resumed
  • Round 2 (Wednesday, May 13)
    • Noon - Generals teed off on Hole 1 of Plantations course
    • 8 a.m. - Thursday, May 14 - Generals scheduled to resume play

The 72-hole NCAA championship includes 34 teams and six individuals competing in both team and individual formats. After 36 holes, the field will be cut to the top 15 teams and top six individuals not on those teams to compete in the final two rounds.
