JEKYLL ISLAND, Ga. – The No. 2-ranked Washington and Lee University men's golf team delivered an outstanding final-round performance at the Jekyll Island Collegiate, shooting 13-under-par (275) on Sunday to secure a runner-up finish with a 6-under-par total (296-287-275—858) at Pine Lakes Course (Par 72, 6,700 yards).
The Generals vaulted four spots on the final day to finish second overall, posting the lowest team score of the tournament and third round. The tournament average score for the final round was 73.97 strokes, but W&L far outpaced the field to conclude the tournament as one of five teams under par.
Today's runner-up finish marked the fifth tournament this season the Generals finished inside the top-5 in team scoring and for the third time in 2025, McEwen (-10) was crowned the tournament champion.

Individual Highlights:
- Sophomore Jonathan McEwen captured the individual championship with a 10-under-par (69-69-68—206) performance. His bogey-free final round featured four birdies, including a three-hole birdie stretch to close the front nine. Over the tournament, McEwen carded 17 birdies, leading the field. He also topped Par 4 scoring (-5, 3.83 avg.) and finished 6-under on Par 5s (4.50 avg.), securing his third individual collegiate victory.
- First-year Timothy Kaufman surged six more spots on Sunday, climbing 29 positions total from Round 1 to finish 5th overall at 6-under (73-70-67—210). Kaufman recorded five birdies and one eagle in the final round, playing his first 16 holes perfectly before a single bogey on 17, which he immediately recovered from with an eagle on 18. He ranked second behind McEwen in Par 4 scoring (-4, 3.87 avg.) and finished 7-under on Par 5s (4.44 avg.), securing his second top-5 collegiate finish.
- First-year Charlie Krasnewich made one of the largest tournament jumps, rising 29 spots on Sunday and 60 total since Round 1 to finish T-29th at +2 (76-73-69—218). His three-under final round included five birdies, bringing his tournament total to 12 birdies. Krasnewich excelled on Par 5s, leading the team at 4.33 avg. (-8).
- Senior Will Braxton delivered a clutch final round, rising 33 positions to finish T-66th at +8 (78-75-71—224). He was W&L's best Par 3 player, finishing even overall on those holes. Braxton carded seven birdies over the tournament and played his first nine holes on Sunday flawlessly, with eight pars and a birdie. He improved by seven strokes from Round 1 to Round 3.
- Senior Elias Malakoff improved his score each day, finishing T-123rd at +17 (80-77-76—233). He totaled six birdies and an eagle, excelling on the 18th hole, where he carded two birdies and an eagle over three rounds.
