Men's Swimming Cruises Past Southern Virginia 172.5–54.5

LEXINGTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee University men's swimming team continued its unbeaten dual meet start with a decisive 172.5–54.5 victory over Southern Virginia University on Friday evening at the W&L Natatorium.

The Generals won 11 of 13 scored events, sweeping both relays and showcasing impressive lineup depth across all distances.

Seniors John Ramos, Dylan Reher, and Jackson Hall all earned two individual wins to lead W&L, while first-years William Gordon and George Libecco added victories in sprint events. Ten different swimmers contributed event wins and W&L swept the top three spots in multiple races.

Notable Performances

  • John Ramos swept the breaststroke and individual medley events.
  • Jackson Hall won both the 200 (1:49.18) and 500 freestyle (5:02.23) to pace the Generals' distance group.
  • Dylan Reher earned two event victories in the 50 freestyle (22.37) and 100 butterfly (54.04) while contributing to the winning 200 medley and freestyle relays.
  • William Gordon captured the 100 freestyle (49.64) and added a 22.40 second leg in the winning 200 freestyle relay.
  • Noah Ramos took the 200 butterfly (2:03.42) and swam on the victorious medley relay.
  • Additional scoring came from Cooper Tinsley, Reid VanderVoort, and Caleb Yau, who each recorded top-three finishes to round out W&L's dominant team effort.
