SALEM, Va. – The No. 19 Washington and Lee men's cross country team heads to Green Hill Park in Salem, Virginia, on Saturday, November 15, for the 2025 NCAA Division III South Regional Championships. The men's 8k race is set for 10 a.m., followed by the women's 6k at 11 a.m.

The Generals enter the postseason coming off a statement victory at the ODAC Championships, where they reclaimed the conference crown with 27 points and five scorers inside the top 11. Saturday's win marked W&L's 15th ODAC title and 16th conference championship in program history.

W&L MEN'S PREVIEW

The Generals will once again square off with No. 23 Lynchburg, renewing one of the South Region's most competitive rivalries. At the ODAC Championships, W&L edged the Hornets by just six points in a tactical, back-and-forth race that featured ten lead changes through 12 Blue Ridge Timing checkpoints.

Sophomore Sam Daunt claimed the individual title and ODAC Runner of the Meet honors with a record-breaking 25:36.9, edging teammate Robert Cooper (25:37.1) by two-tenths of a second as both shattered the previous course record (25:42.6, set in 2015). Senior Keaton Rush placed fifth (25:52.9) and was named ODAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive season. William Dunaway (8th, 26:06.2) and Thomas Franklin (11th, 26:22.3) closed the scoring five, while Jackson Kodenski (12th, 26:25.3) and Raja Mehendale (17th, 26:42.7) rounded out the top seven.

The Generals' scoring pack averaged 25:55 with a 45-second spread, securing a 1–2 finish and consistent front-running presence. The victory also capped a W&L team sweep, as both the men's and women's programs captured ODAC titles for the first time since 2019.

Both teams boast elite front duos — Daunt and Cooper for W&L, Jordan and Cobb for Lynchburg — who headline the race's individual field. W&L has held the upper hand across the season's head-to-head matchups, though the Hornets' recent success on the regional and national stages and experience make for another close showdown in Salem.

Emory (UAA runner-up), Pfeiffer (USA South champion), and Roanoke (ODAC third-place finisher) round out the South's top-five contenders. The ODAC and Roanoke will also benefit from home-course familiarity at Green Hill Park, the same venue that hosted the ODAC Championships in 2023 and 2024.
