Men's Soccer collects three-goal win over Guilford on Senior Day

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's soccer team celebrated its 2025 Senior Day game by defeating Guilford on Saturday by a final score of 3-0.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The Generals (7-2-5, 5-0-1 ODAC) got an early goal from senior Buster Couhig in the sixth minute. Sophomore Justin Ceccanecchio made a move around a defender on the right side and made a run into the box, before getting a centering pass off to Couhig who volleyed it into the back of the net.
  • Ceccanecchio then put W&L up two goals when he intercepted a clearance attempt from the goalie. Ceccanecchio got the ball just past the 18, and only needed two touches before beating the keeper to the top-right corner.
  • The Generals tacked on their final goal of the game in the 78th minute from junior Aaron Cordova. From inside the box, W&L hit some quick passes ending in sophomore Ayush Kataria finding first-year Mac Couhig, who slipped the ball behind the defense to Cordova, who scored between the keeper's legs.
