LEXINGTON, Va. - The Washington and Lee University men's swimming team opened its 2025–26 regular season with a commanding 182–80 victory over the University of Mary Washington on Friday evening at the W&L Natatorium.
In the non-conference dual, the Generals won 13 of 14 events and swept both relays to start the year with a 1-0 record for dual events. The only exception for a clean W&L sweep was the 200-yard breaststroke, which was won by UMW's Johnathan Zimmer.
Dalton Jobe,
Leighton Chapman, and
Zane Ross led the charge with multiple individual event wins, while
Harrison Cerone and
Charles Byars added key victories to help W&L outpace the Eagles by more than 100 points.
