BLACKSBURG, Va. – The No. 25 Washington and Lee University women's cross country team placed second in the women's 4k at the Virginia Tech Invitational on Friday, scoring 64 points.
Sophomore
Olivia Warr led W&L, finishing 11th in 14:30.2, followed by law student
Cassie Carr in 17th at 15:00.5 to mark her debut for the Generals.
The Generals' consistent performance across the top-seven runners secured their second-place finish thanks to six of the seven scorers placing inside the top-30. Virginia Tech won the event with a perfect score of 15 points, and Radford took third with 79 points.
Washington and Lee outpaced several Division I and II programs, including Radford and No.28 Charleston (W.V.), in third and fourth place, respectively.

The Generals will compete at the Dickinson Long/Short Invitational hosted by Dickinson College on Saturday, September 28. The race will be held at the Big Spring High School Cross Country Course in Carlisle, Pa.
