Will Kistler were in action in main draws for the Washington and Lee men's tennis team on Saturday at the ITA Southeast Regional Championships, while senior
James Kurani and sophomore
Britton Buckingham picked up five total wins in B3 singles.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM DAY 2:
Buckingham led all Generals players on Saturday with four total wins, including three in the B3 singles bracket. Buckingham and Kurani paired in the Doubles Consolation Round of 16 for a 6-3 win over Muhlenberg's Owen Dyer and Matthew Miller. In singles play, Buckingham won in the B3 Round of 16, Quarterfinals and Semifinals, including an 8-7 (2) battle against Haverford's Owen Kilmer.
Kurani also made a run through the B3 bracket, winning two matches by a combined 16-2 games score before bowing out in the semifinals against Brian Yi of Johns Hopkins.
Erb and Kistler remained W&L's only representation in the main draw, but both were defeated in the Championship Doubles Round of 16, before Erb went down in the Championship Singles Round of 16.
Other Blue and White doubles wins on Saturday included senior
Eli Hirshberg and sophomore
Heys Parker with a 6-3 win in the Championship Doubles Consolation Round of 16 and first-year
Ryan Good and sophomore
Sanjheev Rao in the B1 Doubles Round of 16. Parker added a singles win in the B1 Round of 16, while Rao finished up with a win in the B2 Singles Consolation Quarterfinals.
UP NEXT:
The Generals will hit the courts for the final time this fall on Saturday, October 12, when they travel to Virginia Wesleyan, before breaking for the winter.
