LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's tennis team played in its first dual match of the 2024-25 season on Sunday afternoon and shut out Randolph-Macon, 7-0, on the home courts.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
The Generals (1-0, 1-0 ODAC) earned the doubles point in the match, in did so by sweeping all three matches. 6-0 scores were posted at No. 3 by juniors
Jake Vo and
Rider Yeaman and at No. 2 by sophomore
Sanjheev Rao and first-year
Ryan Good. Seniors
Evan Erb and
Will Kistler only dropped one game at No. 1 to finish off the doubles sweep.
In singles, no General dropped more than two total games, and each player had at least one 6-0 set win. Kistler highlighted singles at No. 3 with a 6-0, 6-0 win, while first-years
Demetrios Bezianis (4),
Sahil Arora (5) and Good (6) all only lost one game. Erb surrendered two games in his first set before blanking Julian Monatlik, and senior
Eli Hirshberg mirrored Erb's result.

The Generals will return to action on Friday, September 27, when they travel to the University of Mary Washington for the annual ITA Southeast Region Championships.
