BRIDGEWATER, Va. - No. 25 Washington and Lee opened the women's cross country season with a dominant win at Bridgewater on Friday, claiming first place thanks to 10 runners finishing inside the top 20.
Emma Mitchell led the Generals, finishing the 4k race fourth overall in 15:31.07, followed closely by Mary Gorsky, Eve Spencer, Sarah Clark, and Charlotte Gardner in 5th through 8th places.
In team scoring, the Generals recorded 30 points, outpacing runner-up Bridgewater's 36 points. Shenandoah placed third with 73 points, while Roanoke finished fourth with 91 points.
