FOREST, Va. — The 2023-24 Old Dominion Athletic Conference All-Academic Team announcement on Thursday afternoon highlights Washington and Lee University's remarkable success, leading the conference with a record-breaking 537 student-athletes recognized for their achievements in the classroom.
For the first time in league history, over 3,000 student-athletes were honored, with a total of 3,175 surpassing last season's record of 2,871. This marks the sixth consecutive year, and seventh in the last eight, that the ODAC's total has exceeded 2,000 honorees.
W&L's achievement was followed by Shenandoah University and the University of Lynchburg, with 329 and 322 honorees, respectively. This is the first time three ODAC schools have each had over 300 distinguished members in one season.
Eligibility for the ODAC All-Academic Team is open to any student-athlete competing in a conference-sponsored sport. Honorees must achieve a minimum 3.25 GPA for the academic year.
