DESTIN, Fla. – The 14th-ranked Washington and Lee University women's golf team improved to sixth place after the second round of the 2024 Golfweek October Classic, with a two-round total of +31 (607) on the par-72, 5,611-yard course.

Player Highlights:

• Marcella Mercer, Ella Wong and Laetitia Roegner all rose in the individual leaderboard and are tied for for 32nd (+8)
• An Shelmire is nine strokes over par and tied for 40th (+9).
• Julia Haetzel is tied for 62nd (+13).

• Par 3s: W&L averaged 3.18 (+7)
• Par 4s: W&L averaged 4.35 (+35)
• Par 5s: W&L averaged 5.10 (+4)
• Birdies: W&L recorded 13 birdies across the two rounds.
• Zimo Li (Emory University) leads the field at -5 with rounds of 70 and 69 (139).

W&L will open up the final round of play tomorrow and tee off at 7:40 a.m.
