Eve Spencer Leads Women's Cross Country, Team Takes First at Royals' Cross Country Challenge

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Washington and Lee University women's cross country team took first place at the Queens University Royal Cross Country Challenge, finishing with 55 points in the Blue 5,000m race.

The Generals placed five runners in the top 25 to secure the win, led by sophomore Eve Spencer, who finished 2nd overall in 19:11.80. Brianna Breyault followed in 4th with 19:22.91, and Lucie Graziano rounded out the top three for W&L in 11th.

BY THE NUMBERS

Washington and Lee won the meet with 55 points, ahead of second-place Georgia College (71 points) and third-place Montevallo (90 points).

UP NEXT

The Generals' next competition is at the Connecticut College Invitational on October 19 at Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, Conn., with the race starting at 10 a.m.
