GREENSBORO, N.C. - The No. 11 Washington and Lee University men's golf team wrapped up the second day of competition at the Gate City Invitational on Tuesday and submitted a final score card of 298-288-291--877 (+25).
The Generals placed 7th out of the 18 teams. Emory won the event 21 strokes under par at the Starmount Country Club with a stroke total of 831. Emory's Jackson Klutznick won the individual scoring at 16-under-par. `

- McPhail scored eight holes under par including one eagle on hole 18 in the first round of competition.

- After the first round, Malakoff was tied for second-place on the individual leaderboard with a score of 68, three under par.

- Crane's best round was yesterday afternoon in round two; Crane hit for par and recorded six birdies.

- In his first collegiate tournament, Jonathan McEwen jumped up 14 position after he shook the first-year jitters off from day one.
- McEwen hit for par on the third round of play improving by nine strokes from his first 18 holes.
- Place T76 (+20)
- Turner Edwards scored an ace on the tenth hold of the day to highlight his scorecard.
- Edwards finished T76.
