GAMBIER, Ohio – The 36th-ranked Washington and Lee men's tennis team opened the 2023-24 season on Saturday at the Kenyon Invitational for the second consecutive fall.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE DAY:
Sophomore
Jake Vo picked up a singles win for the Blue and White, while seniors
Connor Coleman and
Josh Rassin and first-years
Heys Parker and
Sanjheev Rao were part of one doubles win each. Vo was ahead of Kenyon's Eliezer Gonzalez, 5-3, in the first set when Gonzalez retired.
In doubles, Coleman paired with Rao for an 8-5 win over Wooster's Jay Dixit and Anthony VanOyen. Rassin teamed up with Parker for a comfortable 8-3 win over David Mnuskin and James Foster of Oberlin.
NOTES FROM DAY 1:
Some singles and doubles matches were unable to finish on the first day of play, and will pick back up on Sunday among the scheduled matches.
