FOREST, Va. — The Old Dominion Athletic Conference released its 2022-23 All-Academic Team on Friday and Washington and Lee once again led the league with a record-shattering number of athletes honored.

The Generals totaled 529 of the 2,514 All-Academic Team members named from the 17 member institutions. W&L became the league's first institution to exceed the 500 mark and broke the previous record of 461 set last year by the Blue and White.

Eligibility for the All-Academic Team is open to any student-athlete that competes in a conference-sponsored sport, regardless of academic class. Prospective honorees must achieve at least a 3.25 grade-point average for the year to be considered for the academic All-ODAC award.

The complete list of Washington and Lee's honorees can be found here.

The 2022-23 academic year was full of conference and school records across the board. The 2,514 conference total marks the fourth-highest total in award history and the fourth straight academic calendar with over 2,500 honorees.  The 2019-20 school year had the highest total of 2,681 and was followed by 2,560 (2020-21) and 2,519 (2021-22).

A conference-record six schools placed over 200 individuals on the list and Averett, Bridgewater, Greensboro#, Lynchburg, Roanoke and Shenandoah all set new school records.

The Generals were incredibly successful in the classroom and competition this year. The Blue and White, who won the 2023 VaSID College Division All-Sports Survey, compiled a state-best 236-77-9 (.747) overall record. W&L claimed 12 ODAC championships (Field Hockey, Men's Soccer, Women's Basketball, Wrestling, Men's Swimming, Women's Swimming, Women's Golf, Men's Tennis, Women's Tennis, Men's Lacrosse and Women's Lacrosse), made 10 appearances in NCAA postseason tournaments and had 13 individuals qualify for NCAA Championships.
