SALEM, Va. - Members of the Washington and Lee University wrestling team competed at Roanoke College in the Southeast Futures Championships hosted by VBR Sports on Sunday. 

The Generals' results were headlined by eight podium finishes and a pair of weight class wins by Vincent Ziccardi (Kings Park, N.Y. / Kings Park)in the 141 and Jak Krouse (Valparaiso, Ind. / Valparaiso) in the 184 brackets, respectively. 

Ziccardi recorded a pair of falls in the first two rounds and defeated Roanoke's Alex Choi by major decision in the first place bout 10-0 to claim the tournament's title. 

Krouse's bracket played out in opposite fashion, he earned two decision wins in the quarter and semifinal rounds and pinned Averetts Noah Harris at the 2:47 mark in the final 184 match of the day. 
 
First-year John Santowski (Pittsford, N.Y. / Pittsford Mendon) advanced to the first place match after a 2-0 decision and a 10-2 major decision victories in the 197 class bracket. Santowski lost to Johnny Black of Ferrum 12-11 to be named the tournament's runner-up.

Isaiah Wilson (Winston-Salem, N.C. / Robert B. Glenn), Alex Winant (Chester, N.J. / West Morris Mendham) and Raymond Hutton (Bethlehem, N.Y. / La Salle Institute) all finished in the third place position for their weight classes. Hutton squared off with teammate Louie Lyons (Southborough, Mass. / St. Mark's) in the 174 third place match. Hutton posted an 8-2 decision to claim third, the two met in the quarterfinal bout as well.
