YORK, Pa. - The Washington and Lee University wrestling team scored 67 team points and sits in sixth place after the first day of competition at the New Standard Invitational hosted by York College (Pa.) on Friday. 

The Generals have nine individuals still competing after the first day of preliminary bouts. Evan Lindner (149 lbs), Harrison Kelly (174 lbs), and Skyler Hickman (141 lbs) qualified for the semifinals in their respective weight classes. 

Colin Bridges (149), David Rubin (125), John Santowski (197), Mark Troni (165), Nic Zamaloff and Vincent Ziccardi (141) are set to compete in Saturday's bracket in the consultation rounds. 

In team scoring, TCNJ leads with 84.5 points with 14 wrestlers still competing.
