LEXINGTON, Va. – D3hoops.com announced its 2023-24 women's basketball preseason All-America teams on Wednesday, and Washington and Lee sophomore Mary Schleusner was named to the fourth team.

Schleusner becomes the first preseason All-American in program history, following a widely decorated first season in the Blue and White. The 2022-23 D3hoops.com National Rookie of the Year completed her rookie season with averages of 14.2 points, 11.9 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game, including the most total rebounds (344) in a season in program history and the most boards in a single-game (23) in program history.

After being named the ODAC's Rookie and Defensive Player of the Year, Schleusner played some of her best basketball in the conference tournament to lead the team to its second all-time ODAC title. In the three-game tournament, Schleusner averaged 19.3 points, 13.3 rebounds and 3.0 blocks, including 30 points, 19 rebounds and five blocks in the championship game, to earn the tournament's Most Outstanding Player award. Schleusner followed that up with another 19 points, 21 rebounds and six blocks in a narrow loss to UW-Oshkosh in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.

The Generals, who were among teams receiving votes in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) preseason Top 25, will get their 2023-24 season underway on November 11 at Marymount (Va.) at 12:00 p.m.
