Generals Wrap Up at ODAC Championships Preview

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Members of the Washington and Lee University men's golf team finished competition at the ODAC Championships Preview tournament on Tuesday at the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club.

The trio of Turner Edwards, Devan Patel and Teddy Ross represented the Blue and White at the event. 

Bridgewater won the team title (306-303--609, +33) and Shenandoah's Ben Gray (72-68--140, -4) was the individual and turned in the only scorecard below par.

  • Round One Average Score - 81.70 (+9.7)
  • Round Two Average Score - 80.24 (+8.24)

Devan Patel (79-75--154, +10)

  • Patel jumped nine positions on the leaderboard with a T11 finish. 
  • Patel cut his strokes down from seven over yesterday to just three over par today. 
  • Patel recorded three birdies today and added nine pars to his tournament scorecard. 
  • Patel's 11 pars is tied for the fourth best for the round's field. 
  • First Round Position: Seven strokes over par, T20

Turner Edwards ( 77-82--159, +15)

  • Edwards wrapped up competition at the T22 position.
  • Edwards recorded nine pars today to bring his tournament total to 16 total. 
  • In the first round, Edwards tallied five birdies which was tied for the tournament's most. Four of those came on the back nine. 
  • First Round Position: Five strokes over par, T8

Teddy Ross (84-87-171, +27)

  • On Tuesday, Ross notched a pair of birdies and scored par on eight holes. 
  • In the first round, Teddy shot for par on eight of the first 17 holes and drained an eagle on the 18th. 
  • Ross was one of four players to record an eagle 
  • First Round Position: 12 strokes over par, T37
