LEXINGTON, Va. - The Washington and Lee University wrestling team posted 16 podium showings at the 2023 Jim Crytzer Invitational hosted in Holekamp Gym on Saturday.

The Generals were featured in six first place matches and claimed four of those titles out of the ten weight classes. Overall, the Blue and White finished with an invitational-high  0.7473 winning percentage with 68 match wins to just 23 losses.

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference was well-represented at Saturday's event with Greensboro College, Roanoke College, Shenandoah University and Southern Virginia University competing along with wrestlers from Marymount University.

W&L's strong team performance was highlighted by David Rubin (Matawan, N.J. / Matawan Regional), Jack Roszko (Manhasset, N.Y. / Manhasset), Ryan Luth (Milford, Conn. / Joseph A. Foran), and John Santowski (Pittsford, N.Y./ Pittsford Mendon) who all finished on top in their respective championship bouts.

The Generals will take to the mat next weekend at Lycoming College on Friday, January 13 and 14. Washington and Lee will participate in the Budd Whitehill Duals before returning to Lexington for ODAC competition on Thursday, January 19 at 7 p.m.
