Box Score LEXINGTON, Va. - The No. 14 Washington and Lee University field hockey team earned its fourth straight win, a 4-0 victory against visiting Dickinson College on Saturday afternoon.

The Generals (4-1) benefited from goals scored by three different women and a pair of Freddie Tobeason (New York, N.Y./ Groton) assists in the first half to take down the Red Devils (1-4).

Today's win marks the fourth consecutive game in the series matchup with the Generals on top.

First-year midfielder Betty Boatwright (District of Columbia / Georgetown Visitation), set up the initial scoring opportunity for the Generals when she found an open Kailey Fitzgerald (Chevy Chase, Md./ Georgetown Visitation) at the dot. The early goal, scored just 90 seconds into the contest, proved to be the game-winning tally.

W&L posted two more opportunities in the first quarter, Tess Muneses (Howard County, Md./ Glenwood) redirected a high ball toward the goal but hit the left post and Fitzgerald sent a rocket to the far right post immediately after the restart but Dickinson keeper Saige Stevens made a diving save to the left.

The Generals capitalized in the second quarter with two additional tallies. The second score of the contest was notched when Tobeason slipped a feed past the defense toward an open Boatwright on the far post. An easy tap-in behind the keeper provided an insurance goal.

Tess Muneses (Howard County, Md./ Glenwood) put on a dribbling clinic in the midfield to set up the third goal for the home team. The senior maintained possession out of the defensive end and through heavy traffic. She cleared out enough space and sent a long pass up the right sideline to Tobeason to set up a two-on-one with Peyton Tysinger (Norfolk, Va./ Norfolk Academy) against Dickinson's goalkeeper.

Tobeason baited the Red Devils' last line of defense toward her and placed an on-target cross to Tysinger, on the left side of the circle, for the score.

With her pair of assists today, Tobeason matched her season total from last year with five.

The second half remained scoreless on either side.

Munesses recorded a team high eight shots, two on frame and two hitting the post in a 26 chances for the Blue and White. Eleven of those shots were on target. W&L posted an 8-5 advantage in penalty corners.

In the goal for the Generals, Abby Long (Kansas City, Mo. / Pembroke Hill) and Julia McDonald (Guilford, Conn. / Guilford) split time to earn the fourth straight shutout this season.

The Blue and White return to the field tomorrow for a 1 p.m. non-conference contest at No. 18 Christopher Newport University.
