KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The United Soccer Coaches recently announced its 2021-22 Team Academic Awards, and the Washington and Lee men's and women's soccer teams were among those honored.
A total of 783 soccer teams (295 men, 488 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 academic year. Of that total, 145 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized.
The W&L women's team posted a cumulative GPA of 3.62 during the previous academic year, while the men's team produced a 3.45 team GPA. To view the complete list of honored institutions, click

The men's soccer team opens its 2022 campaign on September 1 at 7:00 pm at home against Messiah in a rematch of the 2021 NCAA Quarterfinals. The W&L women's soccer team plays in its season opener on September 3 at 3:00 pm against Stevens to kick-off the Haverford College Classic.
