Riley Parker to represent Team USA in Maccabiah Games

JERUSALEM, Israel – Washington and Lee University rising senior wrestler Riley Parker will represent Team USA in the Maccabiah Games starting on July 19. Parker is the first General to compete in the games.
 
The Maccabiah Games, otherwise known as the Jewish Olympics, are held every four years in Jerusalem, Israel, and consist of over 10,000 Jewish athletes. The games are held by the Maccabi World Union, an international Jewish sports organization, and are overseen by the International Olympic Committee. The games were scheduled to take place in 2021 but, due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Israel, were postponed to 2022.
 
Parker finished the 2021-22 season with a school record 35 wins (35-10) including 11 pins. Parker also finished sixth in the 125 pound weight class a the NCAA Division III Championship. He also earned VaSID All-State honors in the 2021-22 campaign.
 
Parker is scheduled to start the games on Tuesday, July 19 in the 55 kg (121.25 pounds) weight class for Team USA.
