LEXINGTON, Va. – Washington and Lee saw 18 different players find the back of the net in producing a 27-6 win over Guilford in ODAC men's lacrosse action on Saturday afternoon at Wilson Field.
The 20th-ranked Generals (10-5, 8-0) scored the first seven goals of the game, including two each from sophomore attackmen
Alex Brown (Norwalk, Conn. / Taft School) and
Michael Ott (Savannah, Ga. / St. John's Prep) during the opening run.
Guilford (5-8, 3-5) got on the board with a goal by junior attackman Devin Morse with 1:15 left in the first quarter, but W&L senior midfielder
Fenner Pollock (Nashville, Tenn. / Montgomery Bell Academy) ended the period with a goal off an assist from Brown with just two seconds remaining for an 8-1 lead.
The Quakers opened the second quarter scoring with a goal by junior midfielder Gabe Alvarez just 47 seconds into the frame, but the Blue & White ended the first half with another seven-goal run to carry a 15-2 lead into the intermission. Senior attackman

Danny Kung (Dallas, Texas / Episcopal) each contributed two goals to the second quarter tally.
The visitors once again began the scoring to start the third quarter, with senior attackman Kyle Smaw tallying a goal at the 14:06 mark. But W&L continued its offensive pressure, going on another five-goal run to assume a 20-3 lead with just over six minutes remaining in the penultimate quarter. Brown and senior midfielder

The Generals out-shot the Quakers, 58-27 and held a 59-20 advantage on ground balls. W&L also won 27-of-35 faceoffs in the contest and forced 29 Guilford turnovers.

Sophomore attackman Justin Barry and Alvarez scored two goals each to lead the Quakers. Senior midfielder Nick Honkomp totaled three assists, while first-year Ryan Reed played all 60 minutes in goal, producing 14 saves.
Washington and Lee will be back in action on Wednesday when it travels to Shenandoah University for a 7:00 pm contest.
