Box Score FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Sophomore outside hitter Sydney Heifner (Nashville, Tenn./Harpeth Hall) totaled 15 kills and 15 digs to lead the Washington and Lee volleyball team to a 3-1 victory over Gettysburg on Saturday in a neutral-site contest at Mary Washington as part of the UMW Quad.
 
The Generals (9-2) took the first two sets, 25-15 and 25-14. The Bullets (5-4) claimed the third, 25-21, but W&L closed out the match in the fourth, 25-22.
 
Along with Heifner, senior right side Carson Allsteadt (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan) and first-year outside hitter Avery Myers (New York, N.Y./Poly Prep Country Day School) each had double-digit kills. Allsteadt finished with 11 kills, while Myers had 11 kills and 10 digs.
 
Junior defensive specialist Caroline Gard (Naperville, Ill./Benet Academy) led the team with 19 digs to go with five assists. Junior setter Ashley Webb (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) notched 45 assists and nine digs. Senior middle blocker Katy Blain (West Palm Beach, Fla./Benjamin School) registered nine kills and two blocks.
