Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. — Sophomore defensive specialist
Caroline Gard (Naperville, Ill./Benet Academy) registered a team-high 10 digs to lead the Washington and Lee volleyball team to a 3-0 win at Randolph on Saturday.
The Generals (7-0, 7-0 ODAC) took the three sets, 25-18, 25-21 and 25-13. W&L held the WildCats (0-6, 0-5 ODAC) to just a .093 hitting percentage, while the Blue and white hit .172.
W&L had three players total at least six kills. Junior middle blocker
Katy Blain (West Palm Beach, Fla./Benjamin School) notched eight kills on a .467 hitting percentage with five blocks. Senior outside hitter
Brynne Gould (Boone, N.C./Watauga) totaled eight kills and five digs, while senior middle blocker
Courtney Berry (Charlottesville, Va./Western Albemarle) added six kills, five digs and two blocks.
Sophomore setter
Ashley Webb (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) recorded 26 assists, two kills and two digs. Sophomore outside hitter
Maggie McSwain (Atlanta, Ga./Westminster) tallied six digs and four kills.
Senior defensive specialist Lindsey Taylor led Randolph with 14 digs, while sophomore outside hitter Tomi-Lauren McGinnis and senior outside hitter Mackenzie Ambrose each had a team-high five kills.
The Generals return to action on Thursday, when they host Southern Virginia at 7:00 pm.
