LEXINGTON, Va. – Washington and Lee Michael F. Walsh Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that the university will continue to hold its annual Brookby Family W&L Athletic Awards Ceremony as a virtual presentation.
 
The 2020 Brookby Family W&L Athletic Awards Ceremony will be broadcast on Thursday, May 21 at 8:30 pm EDT.  The ceremony will be broadcast live as a taped awards ceremony through the school's association with Blue Frame Technology, its athletics streaming partner.  The stream will also be available via Facebook Live on the WLUGenerals fan page and through the WLUSports YouTube site so that student-athletes, parents, alumni, faculty/staff and fans can engage in appropriate commentary throughout the ceremony.
 
As usual, the Athletics Department will present its 10 major awards while also celebrating the remarkable athletic and academic achievements of our teams and individual athletes throughout the 2019-20 school year. 
 
The awards presented will include the Richard Miller Physical Education Scholarship, the J.L. Lefty Newell Memorial Award, the R.E. Chub Yeakel Memorial Service Award, the Wink Glasgow Spirit & Sportsmanship Award, the Outstanding First-Year Male and Female Athlete Awards, the William D. McHenry Female and Male Scholar-Athlete Awards and the Pres Brown Senior Male and Female Athlete Awards.
