LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee men's swimming team earned a 180-82 win over VMI in a home dual meet on Saturday afternoon.
Highlights from the meet:
-W&L won 11 races on the day and had five different swimmers combine for nine individual victories, including three multi-win performers.
-Junior
Patrick Sullivan (Pawleys Island, S.C./Waccamaw) paced W&L with three individual victories. He topped the field in the 100 free (45.82), surpassing Tommy Thetford '18 for a new pool record. He also won the 200 free (1:43.48) as well as the 100 fly (52.47). Sullivan also swam anchor for the winning 200 medley relay (1:35.39).

Danny Lynch (Richmond, Va./Trinity Episcopal School) and first-year
Todd Echols (Winston Salem, N.C./RJ Reynolds) both won two individual races, as Lynch won the 100 (52.48) and 200 back (1:59.28), while Echols was first in the 100 (59.01) and 200 breast (2:11.22). Lynch and Echols both competed on the 200 medley relay, and Echols also swam on the winning 200 free relay (1:25.95).
-Junior
Fitz Rawls (Tampa, Fla./Hillsborough) also had a strong day, winning the 50 free (21.98) and swimming third on the 200 free relay.
