Box Score ATLANTA, Ga. — The Washington and Lee volleyball team fell at eighth-ranked Emory, 3-0, on Saturday at the Emory National Invitational, as the Eagles registered a .337 hitting percentage.
The Generals (22-9) stayed with Emory (26-5) in the first two sets, 25-17 and 25-15. W&L subbed liberally in the third stanza, and the Eagles closed out the match, 25-6, while hitting .625.
Sophomore outside hitter Meg Guignon (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) had six kills and seven digs. First-year outside hitter Ashleigh Meade (Bristow, Va./Patriot) totaled four kills and six digs. First-year setter Mollie Ray (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Catholic) recorded 12 assists and four digs.
Senior middle blocker Mackenzie Shand (Saline, Mich./Saline) registered four kills and one block, while junior defensive specialist Katie Volk (Lancaster, Calif./Quartz Hill) chipped in 11 digs.
Senior outside hitter Kathryn Trinka totaled a match-high 10 kills for Emory. First-year outside hitter Morgan McKnight had nine kills, and sophomore defensive specialist Becky Breuer notched 23 digs.
The Generals will be the two seed in the ODAC Tournament, and host an ODAC quarterfinal on Wednesday. The time and opponent for the match are still to be determined.
