W&L Women's Soccer Defeats Emory & Henry, 4-0

EMORY, Va. – Senior forward Tricia Jessee (Roanoke, Va. / Patrick Henry) scored two goals and had an assist to lead the Washington and Lee women's soccer team to a 4-0 victory over Emory & Henry on Saturday at Fred Selfe Stadium.

Junior defender Kelsey Jervis (Charlotte, N.C. / Myers Park) tallied the game-winning goal in the 13th minute after striking the ball into the top left corner of the goal.

The Generals (12-3-1, 8-1-1) took a 2-0 lead just three minutes later at the 16:29 mark when junior midfielder Chandler Wickers (Portola Valley, Calif. / Menlo School) received a cross into the center of the box from Jessee and fired it into the back of the net.

Jessee scored her first goal of the game 1:08 into the second half after taking the ball down the sideline and firing it past E&H (4-13-1, 1-8-1) junior goalkeeper Kayla Wright. Jessee fired the shot into the top corner of the net giving the Generals their fourth goal.

W&L held a commanding 25-2 advantage in shots and an 11-1 edge in corner kicks. Wright played for 77 minutes in goal and had 10 saves for the Wasps.

Washington and Lee returns to the field on Wednesday as the number one seed when it hosts an ODAC Women's Soccer Tournament quarterfinals match. The opponent and time are to be determined.
