LEXINGTON, Va. — The Washington and Lee volleyball team registered 15 service aces on its way to a 3-0 victory over Hollins at the Warner Center on Tuesday.

The Generals (21-6, 9-2 ODAC) hit .384 as a team, as it defeated Hollins (2-24, 0-11 ODAC), 25-9, 25-13, 25-15. W&L had 27 kills and 12 errors on 91 total attempts to reach its hitting percentage. Hollins was held to a .060 hitting percentage with 13 kills and nine errors on 67 attempts.

Sophomore outside hitter Meg Guignon (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) led the Blue and White with 12 kills and eight digs. First-year outside hitter Allison Webb (Thousand Oaks, Calif./Westlake) had nine kills on 12 attempts (.750 hitting percentage) and added four service aces, five digs and three blocks.

Senior middle blocker Mackenzie Shand (Saline, Mich./Saline) also had nine kills on 12 attempts (.750 hitting percentage). First-year setter Anna Soroka (Mechanicsville, Va./Lee-Davis) led all players with 35 assists. First-year outside hitter Ashleigh Meade (Bristow, Va./Patriot) had a match-high five aces and seven digs.

Junior outside hitter Deja Hadden led Hollins with five kills, while junior defensive specialist Torri Jolly tallied a match-high 14 digs.

With the victory, W&L secured the second seed in the ODAC Tournament, but will have to wait until the rest of the teams finish their ODAC schedule to find out who it will host in the quarterfinals. The Generals return to action on Friday at the Emory Invitational, when they face Berry at 2:00 pm and Susquehanna at 4:00 pm.
