W&L Men's Soccer Suffers a 3-0 Loss to Stockton

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Three different players scored for Stockton to lead the Ospreys past the Washington and Lee men's soccer team, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at Cardinal Stadium. 

First-year forward Steven Tobolski netted the game-winner at the 32:36 mark off of a feed from senior midfielder Bobby Spracklin. Stockton (3-0) took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

Spracklin dished out his second assist of the game in the 54th minute to senior midfielder Jared Ruff to increase the lead to 2-0. The Ospreys found the back of the net again with 8:46 remaining in the contest when junior defender Erik Kretschmer scored off of an assist from senior midfielder Mike DeFeo to reach the final margin of 3-0.

Stockton held a 22-12 advantage in shots over the Generals (1-1-1) and a 4-3 edge in corner kicks.

Sophomore keeper Gillen Beck (Blacksburg, Va. / Blacksburg) saw 67 minutes of action in goal for the Blue and White and posted six saves, while junior goalie Connor Hayward (Dallas, Texas / Highland Park) played the remaining 23 minutes and finished with three saves. Senior Bobby Varga saw the entire match in goal for the Ospreys and totaled seven saves.

W&L returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to Southern Virginia for an 8:00 pm contest.
