Box Score LYNCHBURG, Va. — Senior outside hitter Anna Lausberg (Ocoee, Fla./Bishop Moore Catholic) notched a match-high 18 kills to lead the Washington and Lee volleyball team to a 3-0 sweep at Lynchburg on Saturday.
Lausberg needed only 39 attempts to tally her 18 kills and committed just three errors for a .385 hitting percentage in the Generals (8-4, 3-0 ODAC) 25-17, 25-17, 25-21 victory over the Hornets (4-8, 1-1 ODAC).
Lausberg also had 10 digs to register her third double-double of the season. With the 18 kills, she moved into eighth on the W&L career kills list. She now has 1,117 over her four seasons. Michelle Chastain '04 was eighth with 1,115 in her career.
Junior middle blocker Mackenzie Shand (Saline, Mich./Saline) tallied 13 kills on 20 attempts with one error for a .600 hitting percentage. First-year outside hitter Meg Guignon (St. Louis, Mo./Visitation Academy) had eight kills and 11 digs.
Sophomore setter Elena West (Roanoke, Va./Northside) distributed the ball on the offensive side with 33 assists. Sophomore defensive specialist Katie Volk (Lancaster, Calif./Quartz Hill) led the defense with a match-high 15 digs.
First-year outside hitter Amelia Dalton and junior outside hitter Jennifer Garrett each totaled 12 kills to lead Lynchburg. Dalton also added 11 digs, while Garrett had 13.
The Generals continue ODAC play on Wednesday when they host Emory & Henry at 7:00 pm.
